Teays Valley Youth Soccer Association
No PETS Policy
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety, health, and comfort of all players, coaches, volunteers, officials, and spectators at TVYSA events, in accordance with public health guidance and safety best practices in the State of Ohio.
Policy Statement:
To promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants, pets are not permitted at any practices, games, tournaments, or other sponsored events held at the TVYSA soccer park.
Exceptions:
This policy does not apply to service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). A service animal is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and are not permitted.
Enforcement:
All spectators, volunteers, and participants are expected to comply with this policy. Anyone found in violation may be asked to remove their pet from the premises immediately. Repeated violations may result in further action, including suspension from league activities.
Under the ADA, No Certification Required: TVYSA cannot require documentation or proof that the animal is certified or trained.
Under the ADA, Inquiries Allowed: TVYSA Staff or Volunteers may ask two questions:
Is the service animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Rationale:
This “NO PETS” policy is in place to:
Reduce the risk of allergic reactions, injuries, or aggressive interactions.
Comply with health department regulations, insurance liability, and local facility rules.
Provide a distraction-free environment focused on youth sportsmanship and development.
TVYSA appreciates your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.
